Preutilization is the deliberate suspension of prospective assignment before and during the formation of a Somacentric Trajectile. It prevents a subject, composition, expressive effect, desirable accident, or visual trait from becoming the event’s prescribed destination.
Preutilization identifies the preventive methodology of Somacentric Trajectilery. Its position is temporal: it acts before an emerging material event has been assigned a governing image, purpose, compositional role, or expected trait.
The method does not require an empty mind and does not eliminate rules. A substrate, medium, tool, color set, or operational condition may be selected in advance. Such conditions govern conduct without specifying what the finished artifact must look like. Once the event begins, material resistance and bodily action remain free to produce consequences that were not pictured beforehand.
Preutilization is therefore distinct from improvisation understood simply as spontaneous variation. Improvisation can still aim toward coherence or a preferred result. Preutilization specifically withholds the authority of that projected result. Within Arteanity, it stands opposite Deutilization across the boundary of assignment: Deutilization acts after assignment; Preutilization acts before it.
