Nameless Number Thirteen

Nameless Number Thirteen records the first sustained iridescent-on-black session within Somacentric Trajectilery. Sakura Cray-Pas Expressionist white and Sennelier iridescent blue oil pastels were carried simultaneously by both hands, creating two co-temporal pigment streams within one bodily event. White remains comparatively stable, while blue withdraws or intensifies according to light and viewing angle. Executed immediately before Nameless Number Fourteen, the autonomous work was later recognized as one of the twin records forming Nameless Diptych One.

Nameless Number Thirteen emerged during the first sustained iridescent-on-black session in Somacentric Trajectilery. White and blue oil pastels were carried simultaneously, one in each hand, so that the two pigment streams entered the substrate within the same bodily event rather than as successive layers.

The increased motoric complexity produced an unexpected threshold. Conscious coordination could no longer supervise both hands independently and effectively relinquished fine control while the movement continued. The resulting trace therefore records not only simultaneous color deposition, but a moment in which bodily coordination exceeded deliberate pictorial management.

The work also established a significant optical condition. Against the black substrate, the white remains comparatively stable while the iridescent blue can recede almost completely or become vividly active as illumination and viewing angle change. The artifact consequently contains both persistent and angle-dependent visual information and cannot be fully represented by a single frontal photograph.

Executed immediately before Nameless Number Fourteen, the work remains autonomous. The two were later grouped as Nameless Diptych One, but their relationship arises from rapid succession and shared material conditions rather than from a preplanned paired composition.
